About Pat Grassley

I was born and raised on a farm near New Hartford and am proud to work this land as a 4th generation farmer with my dad and grandpa.  My wife Amanda and I have two wonderful daughters - Indee and Reagan. I am a proud fiscal and social conservative Republican. My grandpa told me long ago to remember that elected officials work for the people and it is a privilege and honor to do so. Following this advice, I hold public townhall meetings in every community in the district every year to listen to constituents. By doing this, I can take your message with me to the Capitol and better represent you.

I always welcome your thoughts on issues and your opinions on politics and policy.  You can reach me anytime by emailing me at: . I was first elected to the state legislature in 2006. Recently, I announced, after thoughtful discussions with my family and supporters, I will run for reelection next year in District 50. Once every ten years, following the census, new district lines are drawn taking into account changes in population.  The new district 50 is made up of the southern portion Butler County, all of Grundy County, and northern Hardin County.  To learn more about the new district and see a map, click here. I hope to become better acquainted with you as I am out and about in the new district. I look forward to earning your support and working for you in the Iowa House of Representatives.
